MCC is only a few updates away from making or breaking the game even more Update: Only time will tell. It seems Matchmaking is actually improving since the previous update, and with this one lets hope it stays on that path. By Sam Prell 01 February Halo: The Master Chief Collection is about to get some major updates that will drastically rework code and improve functionality, courtesy of a small team within Industries dedicated solely to supporting old Halo games. Normally this would be good – if somewhat expected – news. What makes this particular turn of events notable is that it’s currently February , more than three years on from Halo: MCC’s original release date of November 11, It’s not like this hasn’t been coming for awhile, either.
If you aren’t aware, HaloCustoms vs the World is a weekend-long event in which the staff and our wonderful community join forces to dominate the forces of evil in Halo 5’s (and maybe even MCC’s) Matchmaking.
It was also cool to see i go back to the roots of Halo 2 by having a second main character in the campaign. Unfortunately at release, it all fell apart. The problems with Halo 5’s campaign fall under two categories, the gameplay and the story, with the latter being the worse of the two. In Halo 5 Guardians, you have access to squad commands, this is where the person playing as Locke or Chief can command his AI allies to move to position, to attack a target, pick up a weapon, or to revive a fallen teammate.
The problem with this though is that the AI do not respond to threats and only follow the specific orders. For example, if you get downed, you can call an ally to revive you. Most of the time, they won’t sprint towards you and they won’t avoid hostile fire.

Though the UNSC manages to repel most of the fleet, a large ship hovers over the city, depositing an invasion force. The ship eventually retreats via a slipspace jump, creating a massive shockwave. Was there some mention before they took the other games offline that additions would come? I’m speaking about the dearth of options relative to the original group of playlists. When I heard them say “every map from every game”, I assumed that you’d be able to pick each Halo for multiplayer. Halo 2 and 3 just feel “old” to me. No sprinting, no special abilities, minimal armor customizations, even the assassinations are just hitting the guy.
I’m enjoying the campaign immensely, but I suspect before long, I’ll be back to Titanfall for my mulitplayer fix because TMCC is just so utterly disappointing. I guess we all have our opinions, but that’s an unusual one. I guess it’s about when you grew up and the style you’re used to. I like the Halo 2 setup because it’s based on strategy and aiming ability over who is on the biggest sugar high and can get the auto-aim to lock on to an enemy while you spray wildly.
Titanfall’s core feels too similar to Call of Duty, with the auto-aim luck and overdone extras for my liking.
